Since joining Environmental Incentives, Erik has focused on the design and development of habitat exchanges in the West, including the Colorado Habitat Exchange for greater sage-grouse and mule deer and the Upper Green River Conservation Exchange for greater sage-grouse, mule deer, and riparian habitat. Erik brings a strong understanding of regional environmental accounting to diverse stakeholder groups to achieve measurable conservation outcomes. Previously, Erik led the development of a payments for ecosystem services program for the Colorado State Board of Land Commissioners. He has also supported research on social attitudes towards Marine Protected Areas in the Philippines.

After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Natural Resources Management, Erik joined a small ecological services firm restoring native landscapes along Colorado’s Front Range. He gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by those working to achieve on the ground conservation. Erik brings this insight and his passion for promoting innovative means to drive investment in conservation to Environmental Incentives.
