The Town of Mammoth Lakes has released the inaugural Town of Mammoth Lakes Community Indicators Report on their website. Mammoth Lakes is a small mountain community nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains south of Yosemite National Park. The Town is home to one of California’s best ski resorts, Mammoth Mountain. The annual Community Indicators Report uses a consistent set of indicators to report performance related to the “triple bottom line” sustainability goals of the community. These goals and indicator results reflect the interplay between the social, environmental and economic factors affecting the community’s well-being. The report plays a crucial role in educating local residents, informing planning and other public resource allocation decisions and attracting new private capital to the community. Environmental Incentives was the lead author of the report and played a crucial role in selecting, evaluating and defining the indicators included in the report.
