Stella is one of the Program Coordinators for USAID’s Improving Design, Evidence, and Learning (IDEAL) contract, providing knowledge management, operations, and coordination support as needed. Stella specializes in analyzing, synthesizing, and managing data and knowledge in order to strengthen and improve integrated program design through evidence-backed insights.
Prior to joining Environmental Incentives, Stella was studying Systems Engineering with a concentration in Global Development at the University of Virginia. Through her studies and her internships, she focused on how data could be used to learn from and improve development programs. While interning with USAID’s Health, Ecosystems and Agriculture for Resilient, Thriving Societies initiative, Stella analyzed the baseline evaluation data for the Madagascar Mission’s Thriving/Tangible and Sustainable Investments for Land Restoration and Economic Opportunity activity and published an article on her findings. Stella later interned at the High Atlas Foundation, a participatory development agricultural NGO based in Marrakesh, Morocco, where she developed an innovative, impact-focused monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework that boosted marketing, accountability, and learning.
Stella is looking forward to growing her expertise in MEL through her work with IDEAL. She hopes to use this expertise to empower local communities to build from solid foundations, achieve their goals, and conserve their regional ecosystems for long-lasting prosperity.
