Climatelinks Receives 2021 WebAward

We’re pleased to share that Climatelinks, USAID’s global knowledge portal for climate and development practitioners, was selected to receive the 2021 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development in the category of Environmental Standard of Excellence.

EI manages Climatelinks under the USAID Sharing Environment and Energy Knowledge project, which is implemented by TRG, Environmental Incentives, and Forum One. From mid-2020 to early 2021, Forum One led a major redesign of the site to give it a fresh look and new features.

The user-friendly design and updated content bring climate resources and technical guidance to the fingertips of USAID staff and the broader development community around the world. Country pages now include updated climate change indicator data on greenhouse gas emissions, forest area, deforestation, climate vulnerability, as well as USAID funding, country plans, and climate commitments. To promote climate integration, the site now includes 16 sector pages, including Biodiversity, Conflict & Governance, Disaster Risk Management, Economic Growth, Health, Agriculture, and more.

Climatelinks also houses a Climate Risk Management portal to support efforts across all development sectors. Today, the site houses more than 3,000 resources, including over 30 tools, and more than 600 blogs. An average of almost 24,000 visitors came to the site each month in 2020. Climatelinks’ monthly newsletter has almost 10,000 subscribers.

The WebAwards are the longest-running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

Congratulations to our partners at ForumOne and the whole Climatelinks team!
