Through USAID Philippines’ Pacific American Fund (PAF), led by our partner Social Solutions, Environmental Incentives is working to improve the quality of life in the Pacific Islands by increasing resilience to climate change and disasters, facilitating sustainable market-driven economic growth, extending access to quality health care and education, and advancing democratic governance. PAF is a five-year grant-making facility that provides technical assistance to local governments to operationalize COVID-19 response, community engagement and WASH interventions, and risk communication messaging.
Environmental Incentives is supporting this locally led development intiative by:
- Developing guidance for solicitation responses, so that non-governmental and civil society organizations seeking support will be able to address environmental issues in their applications.
- Providing technical assistance to short-listed grant applicants to refine and strengthen their proposals, including the technical approach; monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans; and environmental impact assessments.
- Providing ongoing technical assistance to grantees as they implement and monitor their projects, including by helping them develop and implement Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plans.
PAF provides new opportunities for local partners and civil society organizations across the Pacific Region to shape and own development outcomes by scaling up best practices that improve the economic, health, and environmental well being of the Pacific Islands.
