International

improving environment and development outcomes around the world

Our Approach

Despite millions of dollars invested in international development and environment programming each year, many projects are not realizing their intended effects. In many cases, the vast pool of expertise, insights, and lessons learned are not fully leveraged to improve conservation effectiveness around the world. As a result, the international community is calling for more results-based management and accountability and a system to support learning and processes for adaptive management. Environmental Incentives works with international partners and governments to implement a performance-driven approach that makes investments in the environment and development more effective.

Measuring Results

Charting progress toward clearly defined goals is a cornerstone of effective biodiversity and development programming. We deliver customizable tools to help institutions define indicators of success, measure targets, and better understand progress. This drives program effectiveness and allows institutions to allocate resources more efficiently.

Adaptive Management and Learning

Throughout program implementation, information, data, and knowledge are generated. We work with development organizations, national and local government staff, service providers, and researchers to develop systematic approaches to collect and learn from this data. This enables programs to adapt to changing circumstances.
