Tina is serves as a Program Cycle Mechanism Fellow and is currently embedded in the USAID Somalia Program Offices as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Advisor.

Tina has over 12 years of experience working in international development. Previously, she worked at Social Solutions, Inc. as a MEL Specialist under USAID’s Expanding Monitoring and Evaluation Capacities Task Order (MECap). She served as MEL Advisor to USAID Somalia’s Program Office, providing technical support to the Mission’s third-party monitoring platform, inculcating a learning culture within the Mission, and providing technical guidance to Mission-wide MEL activities. Prior to this, she supported MEL for a variety of implementing partners including Khulisa, Abt Associates, National Democratic Institute, and TechnoServe. In these roles Tina designed, managed, and implemented monitoring and evaluation systems to collect data and information on the results of programming across Africa and Asia for multiple development sectors (Democracy and Governance, Health, Economic Growth, Education, Stabilization).

Tina aspires to use MEL to intentionally include the voices of those we serve as we strive to tell better stories about why we do what we do and why we think it’s working.
