Jake is an Associate that brings his expertise in stakeholder engagement and conservation program development to Environmental Incentives’ habitat team.

Previously, Jake was an environmental specialist for FEMA where he consulted local governments on environmental regulations after severe weather disasters. He also worked with the International Union for Conservation of Nature in Southeast Asia developing a Restoration Opportunities Assessment Methodology initiative to generate more uniform and measurable restoration metrics throughout developing countries. Jake has a passion for understanding human-wildlife conflict and has studied carnivores in the Sierra Nevada Range of California, analyzed public engagement surrounding wildlife issues in the Rocky Mountain West, and studied the impact of tiger tourism on local economies in India.

Jake believes that conservation is never black and white. To achieve sustainable solutions, conservation programs must consider economic, stakeholder, policy, and communication factors in order to reach shared goals.
