Kamweti is an Associate based EI’s first office in Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. His role revolves around workshop facilitation, technical project management, and providing administrative support to EI’s Africa Portfolio. Kamweti is dedicated to advancing empirical solutions to biodiversity conservation and brings years of valuable experience in evidence-based management practices, participatory monitoring and evaluation, and strategic planning to his role.

Prior to Environmental Incentives, Kamweti worked with the Africa Biodiversity Collaborative Group (ABCG) helping with technical project management and leading ABCG’s East Africa outreach initiative while convening stakeholder learning events. Additionally, Kamweti supported ABCG’s paramount strategic planning effort for a new program phase, applying the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation and helping incorporate USAID’s Measuring Impact I into the program design.

Kamweti is driven to empower local communities to co-manage and take ownership of biodiversity resources. He believes in driving positive change by increasing individual perceptions of the value of and appreciation for biodiversity.
