Maria brings a wide range of technical and organizational skills to her role as a Project Assistant for the International Practice Area. She supports the Measuring Impact II initiative under USAID’s Forestry and Biodiversity Office, the Sustainable WASH Systems Learning Partnership under USAID’s Water Office, and USAID’s Sharing Environment and Energy Knowledge initiative.

Prior to joining Environmental Incentives, Maria attended a semester-study at Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, where she learned and developed technical skills to operate the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation. She also previously worked as a research assistant in Madagascar studying the impacts of the political crisis on the country’s conservation programs. Maria is skilled in environmental geospatial analysis and data management, having studied the intersectionality of geographic information systems and environmental conservation. She also has project management and coordination experience more recently through her volunteer work at United World College in the Philippines as a board member.

Maria aspires to support evidence-based conservation programs that are effective and produce life-changing outcomes.
