Matt has more than 12 years of experience implementing USAID programs. His focus areas include applying CLA approaches for improved performance and results, developing monitoring systems, and evaluating program performance. Prior to Environmental Incentives, he was a Senior Associate at Banyan Global where he served as the founding director of the Innovation and Learning Hub, an organization-wide CLA initiative. Matt is an experienced trainer with skills in participatory and experiential methodology, and he brings sectoral expertise in economic growth, private sector engagement, and health sector strengthening. He has worked in various countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the Eastern Caribbean, Afghanistan, and Russia.

Matt aspires to create and support systems that enable practitioners working on challenging problems to design and attempt solutions, look at what worked and what did not, make changes, and try again.
