Nate Graham is a Project Associate in EI’s International Practice Area and provides technical and logistical support to USAID-funded programs through the Latin America & Caribbean Environmental Services Support Contract (LAC ESSC). He brings more than three years of experience in energy, climate, and environmental issues in Latin America and the Caribbean in both analytical and administrative capacities. Nate leverages this experience to contribute to impactful, evidence-based environmental projects in the region.

Before joining the LAC ESSC team, Nate was an associate for the Energy, Climate Change & Extractive Industries Program at the Inter-American Dialogue. In that role, he authored reports, op-eds, and other pieces on a broad range of LAC countries and on subjects including renewable energy, electric mobility, energy storage, and deforestation. He also organized local, international, and virtual events on key topics with diverse stakeholders including government speakers as high as the ministerial level.

Nate believes that a methodological approach to conservation, with a focus on results and learning, is key to designing and implementing successful conservation projects in a context marked by limited resources and rising pressures on ecosystems. He aspires to help hone the tools that enable such an approach and craft projects that yield maximal benefits for both humans and nature, particularly birds, in which he has a deep lifelong interest.
