Raina serves as a Program Cycle Mechanism Specialist, providing expertise to clients on monitoring and evaluation approaches that can strengthen accountable and adaptive programming.

Raina brings nearly a decade of experience working in diverse humanitarian and development contexts – first holding monitoring and evaluation roles in the countries of operation, then consulting on a variety of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and health assessments and evaluations. Most recently, she spent four years with WASH for life providing technical and advisory support to different non-government organizations, donors, and USAID and UN agencies. In her work, Raina supports linking (timely, quality) evidence to decision-making with the aim of promoting efficient, effective, relevant, and durable programming. This is also in-line with the Core Humanitarian Standards which have defined some of Raina’s approaches, particularly in the Middle East, and as they relate to the Protection Principles.

Raina believes in a human rights-based approach to assistance and development, strengthened by local ownership and the Accountability to Affected Populations Framework, and derived through a shared vision for the future. Data plays a significant role in this approach, alongside culture and opportunity.
