Charlie Lindsey is an Associate for the Africa Portfolio based out of EI’s Washington DC office. Charlie’s role revolves around supporting the portfolio, including USAID’s Measuring Impact II project. He brings five years of research, quantitative analysis, and program management experience working in southern Africa to his role with Environmental Incentives.
Prior to joining EI, Charlie worked at Winrock International assisting in program implementation and proposal design for USAID projects. Additionally, he recently graduated from the University of Michigan receiving a Masters in Public Policy focusing on international economic development and a Masters of Science focusing on Sustainable Development. Charlie also worked with Peace Corps Malawi in community natural resource management.
Charlie believes that human well-being is the most important element in conservation and that there should be an emphasis on including local perspectives in program design in order to increase the chances of long term sustainability for a conserved area.
