Maria Celes Abragan is an Associate at Environmental Incentives, where she supports program implementation across the Asia-Pacific region. Her work focuses on advancing USAID’s Improving Design, Evidence and Learning (IDEAL) program and the Pacific American Fund (PAF). Maria brings over seven years of experience in natural resource management, international development, and program management.
Before joining Environmental Incentives, Maria earned a degree from Middlebury College, where she developed technical expertise in applying the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation. Her prior experience includes working as a research assistant in Madagascar, examining the impacts of political crises on conservation programs.
Maria is deeply committed to fostering locally led development and addressing critical climate change and conservation challenges. She aims to support initiatives that empower communities, build resilience, and deliver measurable transformative outcomes for people and ecosystems.
