The County of San Diego’s Waterscape Rebate Program is a valuable pillar of its efforts to meet water quality, public health, and community resilience targets. After a successful pilot with more than 400 projects completed, the County is expanding the program to engage a broader, more diverse range of residents through the Rain-Saving Rebates and Workshop Administration Services activity. Sustainable landscapes and rainwater harvesting practices increase water resilience for the San Diego region as a whole, however underserved areas face barriers to accessing benefits. Recognizing this, Environmental Incentives is pleased to partner with the County to scale their efforts to effectively engage residents and communities that have had limited access to and understanding of rainwater harvesting.
Along with our partners I Love a Clean San Diego (ILACSD), Geosyntec, D-MAX, and Tree San Diego, EI will support operations for the rebate program and help residents and businesses earn rebates to install rain gardens and cisterns to capture rainwater and reduce stormwater pollution. Within the team, EI will manage all aspects of the program, including recruiting projects, customer service, application assistance and processing, and issuing rebate payments. We will also provide education and community outreach to support the program’s goals of reaching new waves of participants.
Over the course of this five-year activity, EI will:
- Grow the program reach and impact through targeted community outreach.
- Enhance efficiency while maintaining customer service and quality.
- Build the capacity of our local non-profit partners.
- Streamline rebate services and facilitate coordination between partner program administrators.
