Erik provides strategic and technical guidance to government agencies and non-governmental organizations in the design and development of data and knowledge management systems to meet compliance, performance management, and impact assessment objectives. Most recently, he supported the USAID/Guatemala Mission to develop the Digital, Data, and GIS Program, building capacity at the Mission to better manage geospatial and other data as assets across the Program Cycle.
In his work, Erik convenes broad teams of subject matter experts and other relevant stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions that match the operational context of the client and meet stakeholder needs. Erik facilitates coordination across diverse stakeholder interests while also ensuring robust governance, monitoring, and learning systems improve effectiveness over time. Before joining EI, Erik led the development of a payments for ecosystem services program to monetize ecosystem services on state lands, supporting their dual mandate to steward land and generate revenue for trust beneficiaries. Previously, Erik worked on-the-ground implementing and maintaining restoration projects, including mitigation and conservation banks.
