Lucia Ballon-Becerra serves a Project Coordinator for EI’s Biodiversity Portfolio and currently supports the Measuring Impact II (MI2) contract. In this role, Lucia builds on her experience in program management, communications, and business development for USAID-funded activities in Latin America and Asia.
Prior to joining Environmental Incentives, Lucia served as a Senior Assistant at Social Impact, where she supported the closeout of an 8-year learning, monitoring, and evaluation program. In addition to providing project support, she also managed the company’s social media presence as a member of the communications team. Lucia ensured a steady flow of the blogs and drafted and published social media posts to increase content visibility. Additionally, she collaborated on business development initiatives by participating in capture and partner research for anticipated bids.
Lucia became interested in climate justice and adaptation due to the increased urgency of the climate crisis and the disproportionate impact on populations that least contributed to intensifying the threat. She hopes that during her time at EI she will be equipped with foundational knowledge of environmental programming and to eventually support locally-led activities for resilience building in marginalized communities.
