Moira serves as a Project Associate in the Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) Portfolio, utilizing her experience in international project management, facilitation, and the Conservation Standards to provide technical support under the Environmental Support Services Contract (ESSC) for USAID.
Moira’s background ranges from federal and international environmental policy analysis to field-based project management. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama, Moira led environmental project design and management while facilitating communication between environmental ministries and community members. In the U.S., she’s worked in environmental policy and program analysis, bridging the gap between government officials and the public. Most recently, Moira consulted for a joint project between The Nature Conservancy and the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, focusing on “win-win” solutions for farmers and conservation organizations along California’s coast.
Moira believes that community voices and collaboration are key to successful governmental policies and programs. She envisions herself working at the nexus of high-level initiatives and projects on the ground while maintaining traditional practices and local livelihoods.
