Tamia Serves as the Senior Facilitation Specialist for the Latin America and Caribbean Environment Support Services Contract (LAC ESSC). In this role, she leads workshop facilitation, provides technical and programmatic support to multiple tasks, and leads staff teams in producing high-quality products.

For over 10 years, Tamia has worked in the Amazon region, leading and supporting teams to develop biodiversity conservation projects, with a focus in evidence-based design and participatory planning and implementation. Tamia’s strong ability to work collaboratively and across multiple disciplines helps her develop conservation and development projects that are grounded in evidence while supportive of participants needs and values.

Before EI, Tamia served as the Program Director for Amazon Conservation where she was responsible for leading the organization’s conservation strategy using the Conservation Standards, fundraising, and managing multi-million dollar long-term projects in Peru and Bolivia on topics ranging from protected areas establishment to environmental crimes and sustainable livelihoods. Prior to working with Amazon Conservation, Tamia was a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian Center for Conservation and Sustainability where she developed community- based conservation projects with indigenous peoples as part of a partnership between Smithsonian and the private sector in the Peruvian Andes-Amazon region.

Tamia believes that the combination of locally driven solutions and evidence-based decision-making is key for meaningful and lasting conservation and social change.

We can co-create lasting change.

We help our partners improve the performance of conservation and development programs.
