She serves as the Office’s Senior Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Advisor. Sushmita has been leading efforts to improve organizational and programmatic learning. She fosters practices to systematically capture, share and apply data and learning throughout USAID’s program cycle to improve decision-making, strategic planning, and implementation of life-saving assistance.

Prior to this assignment, Sushmita worked at Social Solutions, Inc. as a MEL Specialist under USAID’s Expanding Monitoring and Evaluation Capacities Task Order (MECap). During that time, she provided embedded support to USAID/Kenya-East Africa’s Office of Economic Growth to develop project based adaptive management plans and design regional strategies. In addition, Sushmita worked at the US Government Accountability Office for 12 years leading project teams in assessments of foreign assistance that resulted in evidence-based policy options for Congressional Committees.
