People and purpose are the foundation of Environmental Incentives. For eighteen years, we have partnered with clients to design solutions that secure our shared future. This includes creating the conditions for our EI community to thrive and pursue our purpose for multiple generations of EI leaders. With this in mind, we initiated the transition to an employee-owned company in August 2024 with the implementation of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). As an employee-owned company, everyone at EI shares both the responsibility to deliver excellent services and the benefits of contributing to the company's ongoing financial sustainability. We see this as an opportunity for long-term EI employees to secure their financial future in a private-sector context that does not provide defined-benefit retirement plans.
We are proud to join a unique group of 6,500 U.S.-based companies (and 147 fellow Certified B Corporations) that offer ESOPs. In general, companies with these plans demonstrate greater long-term financial stability, performance, and outcomes for employees. We are motivated and committed to continue that legacy and look forward to starting the next chapter of EI’s story.
